GIVEAWAY & Review~"Equity of Evil" by Rudy A. Mazzocchi~ A Medical Thriller Based on Truth

A chilling novel based on true events regarding the use of aborted fetuses, and the medical, business and human intrigue surrounding that. This is one that had me holding my breath and mesmerized for hours!  Sometimes shocking, sometimes exciting, and sometimes frightening in its implications...Is it just a matter of time before
something happens when approximately 42 million unwanted pregnancies throughout the world are occurring today?  Are we
already standing on the brink of an "equity of evil?"

This exciting book is just the first in a trilogy!

Here's a more concise summary by the author:

A Venture Capital Fund makes a risky investment to start a challenging new business that appears capable of reaching profitability with modest capital requirements. The real challenge: optimizing one of the most frequently performed surgical procedure in the World — Abortion.

Founding Partner, Roman Citrano, a successful entrepreneur turned venture capitalist, soon struggles with what he believes is his choice to establish the controversial new company. He soon realizes that he and others are but pawns on a massive, ugly chessboard being manipulated to benefit a far larger, illicit market in human organs for transplantation. Unknowingly, prime, hyper-enriched organs are spawned from the aborted fetuses and grown like hydroponic vegetables.

An unfolding world of deceit, rape, human trafficking and assassination becomes deeply personal as Roman’s sole love interest secretly uses one of his new abortion services to terminate her untimely pregnancy. When she disappears, his frantic search becomes a hellish nightmare that grows worse by the hour.

Based on true events, this bold novel involves some of the world’s oldest, most emotional and controversial issues. At the core of each matter is man’s predisposition to control and take ownership of the human spirit for the sake of profit and person gain… such is the dark and brutal new world where life becomes the equity of evil.

Meeting Up with Rudy Mazzocchi:
Rudy A. Mazzocchi is best known as a medical device and biotechnology entrepreneur, inventor, and angel investor, with a history of starting new technology ventures throughout the U.S. and Europe. He’s been privileged to have the opportunity to see the newest innovations in healthcare and work with some of the most brilliant researchers, scientists and physicians in the industry.
Authoring more than 50 patents, he has helped pioneer new companies involved in cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurosurgery and even embryonic stem-cell development. Through these efforts, he has become the recipient of many technology and business awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Healthcare and the Businessman of the Year Award.
Combining these experiences and opportunities, with thousands of hours of travel and long evenings in hotel rooms, he found the initiative to start writing a collection of medical thrillers based on true events, the first of which is entitled EQUITY of EVIL.

When asked to tell a little about himself and why he wrote this novel, Rudy responded:
"My career has allowed me to observe the creation of new innovative medical technologies years before they are ever commercialized. Most are revolutionary and require physicians to re-think how they perform a procedure or treat a patient. Many of them challenge our premise of “man-playing-god”, the ethical and moral issues surrounding the manipulation of life. Pretty deep stuff, but this is why the reality of my world became more exciting than those stories I found in the pages of other novels. So I decided to try and write my own. Even the process of writing tales that related to such game-changing technologies was more compelling than reading store-bought science fiction."

When asked if his book had any underlying message that he wanted to share, he responded:
"Yes! There are several new scientific innovations and breakthroughs that will impact our lives in the near future, and many more that will affect the next generation. We will have no choice about their existence… they’ll be here if we like it or not. Therefore, we all need to be aware of them and start to think about how society is going to accept and manage them. Equity of Evil touches on many of these medical and scientific innovations that are on the cusp of shaking up public and political views in the major nations of the world. I’m hopeful that this novel (and those underway) will help open up people’s willingness to process such new revelations that will surely disrupt our current moral and ethical opinions."

The Dame's Take On The Novel:  This is a novel extremely well-written and burning with intrigue. The medical aspects, though quite detailed at times are absorbing and visceral.  I was reminded of several other medical thrillers in the opening pages- -many of which are known today as best sellers in the industry. The business dealings behind the medical scenes were fascinating.  Rudy Mazzocchi is destined to be a recognized name in publishing.  His book is very good. You'll be knocked back in your chair in the reading!

As I read "Equity of Evil" I was moved on many levels.  Mazzocchi's characters cover the gamut of medical genius, Machiavellian personalities, manipulators of business and financial markets, political pawns, innocents, and the unaware. He leads us behind the scenes of medical labs and big business conference rooms, in back alleys and criminal darkness.  We go where women are terrified...   We often see where medical technology can lead us to depravity when it's taken to a level unchecked by heart and morality.

However, this is not a "preachy" novel. It is absolutely not a book of that sort.  Rather it is a story based on truth that gives us a glimpse into things that are possible, and that may be on the horizon in our future.  Things that we need to be thinking about.  And, things that we may need to take into consideration when we look at laws and regulations in our country.  Or, perhaps, just that we may want to be aware of when we consider the daily world news...  Was it just an early teacher of mine who used to say, "A word to the wise should be sufficient?"

I found the book a great story to read.  It was difficult not to be horrified at some parts of it.  I'm going to have to tell you I'm pro-life, so the parts about fetuses being the size of a human thumb, having tiny hearts and lungs, eyelashes and tiny hands...being "plopped" out of bloody baggies onto clinical tables "making the exact sound of goldfish" and having their organs removed, hurt me.  There were, of course, several other parts that hurt me having to do with the way women were treated, and the way animals were treated.  I really despise violence toward children and women in particular.  Human trafficking always makes me so angry!

But, all in all...I needed this book.  I needed to have my eyes opened to the possibilities of medical research and development. I loved the human equations featured in this question. This was a great way for me to have an understandable and clear introduction into those actualities and future possibilities.  I enjoyed the experience in the long run.  I'm happy I decided to read "Equity of Evil" because it was all I'd hoped it would be, and I'm so happy I took the whole journey.

This is a novel of suspense, of mystery; a medical thriller with thrilling insights.  If you loved Michael Crichton, you'll love this book.  I hope it's going to be a great hit this year, it certainly deserves to be!
